With more than 20 years in practice, Stephen is recognized as one of the best trial lawyers in the state of Washington. He is listed in

Super Lawyer" and is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest possible award from this publication for performance and ethics. He has also been selected by his peers to be included in
The Best Lawyers of America for personal injury litigation. Stephen also is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Stephen has won major verdicts or settlements in cases against manufacturers of dangerous products, negligent drivers, bars that served individuals who then injured others and many others who have caused serious personal injury.
Stephen is respected for his experience at trial and in appeals court. He has successfully argued many cases before the Washington State Court of Appeals and the Washington Supreme Court. His appellate successes include cases involving drug manufacturer liability, auto manufacturer liability and liability of employers who knowingly expose their employees to harmful chemicals.
Stephen's passion for fairness and justice is not limited to his legal practice. He is a member of several legal organizations and is especially active in the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, where he serves as a member and officer. He has worked tirelessly in the political arena to defend the rights of injury victims. He testifies often at legislative hearings on bills that would further victimize those who are injured through negligence.
Stephen graduated with honors from Seattle University School of Law in 1985 and is licensed to practice in both Washington and Oregon. He is active in a number of community organizations, serving on neighborhood boards and coaching and sponsoring youth athletic activities.
Born and raised in Seattle, Stephen is married to Linda (Hodgkinson), with whom he has two children.
